Stone Age

I have decided to do a set of posts on historical fiction. As I find more books I will add them to the list so please feel free to comment with any you remember. I read lots of historical fiction as a child and so I am starting off with the authors I remember and the recommendations in the back of old puffin novels.

Stone Age
11,000 years lost by Peni R. Griffin, 2005. Esther travels back in time to the Pleistocene.
Boy with the bronze axe by Katheleen Fidler Set in Orkney at Skara Brae. A boy is washed ashore with a bronze axe which the islanders have never seen before.
Stig of the Dump by Clive King Barney finds a stone age boy living in the local dump. Although it written and set in the 1950s the depiction of a stone age boy/ man is very plausible.
Stone Age Boy by Satoshi Kitamura Picture book where a present day fboy alls back in time. Wonderful illustrations
Ug by Raymond Briggs Rather surreal story of Ug an inventor.
Warrior Scarlet by Rosemary Sutcliff Set in the Bronze age, a dsabled boy has to prove himself to the tribe.

Few more discovered since this post and Katherine's response
Attar of the ice valley by Leonard Wibberley, 1972. A neanderthal's tale.
Mik's Mammoth by Roy Gerrard, 1992
One small blue bead by Byrd Baylor, 1992
Tanka the cave boy by Ross Hutchins, 1973
